Psoriasis

Named for the Greek word psora meaning "itch," psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious disease characterized by inflamed lesions covered with silvery-white scabs of dead skin. Psoriasis affects the skin and joints, and is believed to be an immune-mediated disease.
