Is influenzinum right homeopathic remedy for H1N1 flu?

There is no doubt that swine flu or Influenza A H1N1 cases are rising in India. Most worrying point is that number of deaths from swine flu also increasing suddenly inspite of all screenings at airports and sea-ports.

With complete shutdown in Pune and Mumbai, panic situation is going to be worse. And it is correctly mentioned by some newspapers that in India swine flu panic spreads faster than virus.

Recently, in India some SMS about Influenzinum are circulated widely. And, in a frenzy state, people have started buying Influenzinum homeopathic medicine from homeopathic shops and pharmacies. One can see crowd of people buying influenzinum infront of homeopathic shops in Pune and Mumbai.

Is influenzinum right homeopathic remedy for H1N1 flu in India?

Apex homeopathic governmental agencies in India like Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH), Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Homoeopathic Pharmacopeal Laboratories (HPL), and others are silent on this issue. No official statement is given by these health organisations, and there is no correction regarding hysterical usage of influenzinum.

Dr. Anil Singhal, MD(Homeo), an eminent homeopathic physician in Gurgaon, near New Delhi in India, took initiative and analysed the role or scope of homeopathic medicines in present state of Influenza A H1N1.

"As such, we don't have any concrete outcome related to the present situation of H1N1 in India and abroad", says Dr. Singhal. "Hahnemann used the prophylactic medicines during epidemics in his time. As per Dr. Singhal, symptoms of H1N1 flu are to be analysed and remedies should be selected based on some characteristic symptoms of the patient also. He emphasised that homeopathic remedy should be well-proved, and selection should not be based on some assumptions. As per his analysis there are more than 10 remedies those can be helpful in H1N1 flu cases. Homeopathic medicines should be taken under the guidance of your qualified homeopathic doctor.
